The Involvement of Shana Hiatt in the Poker World

Shana Hiatt is popular in the entertainment industry. Her career in the entertainment world began when she won in 1994 as Miss Hawaiian Tropic USA. The pageant was held at the Touché nightclub in Hawaii and she had the chance to represent Beach Haven, New Jersey after such victory.

This opened doors for Shana Hiatt to pursue a career in modeling. In April 1995, she posed nude and became the cover girl in the Girls of Hawaiian Tropic issue of the magazine "Playboy." She was also the cover girl for the video "Playboy: The Girls of Hawaiian Tropic, Naked in Paradise."

In 2002, Shana Hiatt also became an endorser of the Keystone Light beer. Furthermore, she ranked as number seventy five in the "Hot 100 of 2005" of "Maxim Magazine." She appeared in several television shows including "Wild On!," wherein she became a guest host and appeared in several motion pictures as well including "Gransma's Boy" and "Must Love Dogs."

All these are the reasons why the poker public already knew who Shana Hiatt was the first time she appeared in the poker scene. She first appeared as the host of the World Poker Tour for the first three seasons. Her main job was to interview poker professionals participating in World Poker Tour events. During her first days as a host, she hardly knew anything about poker. She only started to be knowledgeable about the game through the interviews she conducted and by watching the poker professionals at the poker tables. She eventually learned a lot and before she knew it, she was already playing poker too!

Shana Hiatt says that it was a great opportunity for her to talk to a lot of poker giants. It is not usual for beginning poker players like her to have the chance to get to interview poker giants and to learn things from them. She also admits that among the professional poker players that she has interviewed, those who really had an impact on her interest in pursuing the game included Phil Ivey and Howard Lederer. Now, Shana Hiatt plays online poker on a regular basis.

There was also a time when Shana Hiatt became the host of the television programs "National Heads Up Poker Championship" and "Poker After Dark." She had to stop hosting when she got pregnant. She was eventually replaced by celebrity Marianela Pereyra as host of "Poker After Dark."

Too bad that Shana Hiatt does not have any hosting stint nowadays because for sure, professional poker players would definitely love to be interviewed by this poker babe.

She used to be married to James Van Patten, the brother of Vincent Van Patten, a host of the World Poker Tour. She is currently married to Todd Garner, a motion picture producer.
